First Stop – Milk & Cookies Tour 2011!

As I embarked upon the first leg of the Milk & Cookies Appreciation Tour, I felt obligated to crank up Tom Cochrane’s hit Life is a Highway.  Driving the 63 miles to Lafayette, Indiana, with gallons of milk and dozens of cookies in tow, I looked forward to the opportunity to thank the generous efforts of the Tippecanoe County WIC staff and the partnership IMMB has with the Indiana Women, Infants, and Children program (WIC) of the Indiana State Department of Health.  IMMB would like to extend a HUGE thank you to Indiana and Tippecanoe County WIC staff members Darlene Matz, Colleen Batt, and Nicole Harmeson for helping plan and execute this great event.

Today, we can officially say that the first stop of the 2011 Milk & Cookies Tour was a complete success!  We accomplished our goal of honoring the Tippecanoe County WIC staff for the amazing work they do to protect, promote, and support breastfeeding in the greater Lafayette community.  Check out the press the event got below.

The Milk & Cookies Tour is taking a very brief haitus due to IMMB’s signature outreach project, the Lactation Station at the Indiana State Fair.  However, we will be hitting the road again in September and are excited to travel the state thanking the generous work of our Milk Depot staff members.
